Medical Savings Account (MSA)

Definition of Medical Savings Account (MSA):

Also called an Archer MSA. Medical savings accounts are tax-free trusts or accounts set up with a bank or insurance company for the sole purpose of providing for medical expenses that may arise in the future. You must be self-employed or work for a qualified small business to set up an MSA. Read more about MSAs in Publication 925.
