Definition of Lifetime Learning Credit:

A tax credit of up to $2,000 (depending on your income) that goes towards post-secondary education (that is, anything after high school). There is no limit to how many years you can claim the credit, nor do you have to be a full-time student, but you cannot claim it if you claim the Hope credit.
