Definition of Hope Scholarship Credit:

A tax credit of up to $1,800 per student for education expense for the first 2 years of college. The credit is subject to a number of limitations, including a phase-out beginning at modified AGIs of $48,000 ($96,000 if filing jointly). If eligible, you may claim the credit on Form 8863.
