Common Stock

Definition of Common Stock:

The shares of stock you buy through your broker are considered "common stock". They represent ownership in a company and give the stockholder the right to vote on large corporate decisions. Common stock holders are also usually paid dividend, but not until after preferred stock and bondholders have been paid.
