Schedule E
Schedule E prevent West Virginia residents who work in other states from avoiding dual taxation on income they earned outside of West Virginia. If Schedule E is not filed income earned in states besides West Virginia by West Virginia residents would be taxed both by West Virginia (the state or residency) and the other state (where the income was earned). Schedule E prevents dual taxation by issuing a tax credit for any taxes paid to other states. Schedule E is a supplemental form and should be filed with Form IT-140.
