Form 1040

U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

1040 is the longest federal income tax form. The vast array of deductions and credits that this form offers allows taxpayers to decrease their tax liability, and usually increase their refund, by offering them credits and deductions they never knew exists and are not available on shorter versions of 1040. There are no requirements to meet in order to use this form. To see if you qualify for a shorter 1040 form read 1040 from A to EZ. See 1040 Line by Line Guide for additional assistance on filing this form.
